WSJ: Eric Holder’s Redistricting Coup

RALEIGH – When the Obama administration’s cabal of community organizers left the official seats of power, they merely dipped behind a curtain to start wielding other powers to affect the same end. That end is advancing Democrats’ candidates and agenda, and the most recent weapon those community organizers are using is the innocuous sounding ‘redistricting project.’

Eric ‘Fast & Furious’ Holder, former President Barack Obama’s attorney general, leads the National Democratic Redistricting Committee. The project aims to push states’ redistricting process in Democrats favor using a familiar assortment of tools to make that happen, like calling Republican maps racist and finding activist judges to agree with them.

The epicenter of this struggle is perhaps best represented by the years long redistricting saga in North Carolina. Wall Street Journal’s editorial board penned an op-ed last week that exposes Holder’s and Democrats’ efforts for what they are – a coup.

Indeed, cheating does have consequences. Stacking courts with Social Justice Warriors like N.C. Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls to usurp the powers vested in the legislature for the purposes of advancing a political agenda Democrats cannot implement honestly via elections seems a little like cheating.

Holder and his group were instrumental in supporting Earls here in North Carolina.

Yet, since all of that is on the hush-hush, Democrats can pretend to occupy the moral high ground while lambasting Republicans in the courts. Meanwhile, Democrat state lawmakers are asserting that they can use tools to gerrymander, but Republicans cannot.

Go figure. Read the full editorial here.
