W[o]ke County Schools: Where the Charge is Anti-Racism, and Parents are ‘Obstacles’ to be Overcome

RALEIGH – The Woke Public Education of Wake County Public Schools is again getting attention for prioritizing anti-racism in the classroom, this time on a national level and from one of the country’s foremost critics and whistle-blowers on Woke Studies.

We that live here in North Carolina are well aware of the contrast in cultures and political leanings between progressive urban locales like Wake County and, well, everywhere else.

Those from elsewhere, though — dingbatters, as Downeasters would say — often still regard North Carolina as a ‘Red State.’ For much of us it sure feels that way. Conservative community values, hardworking small-business owners, tireless local leaders, teachers who graduated from the same school and taught the kids’ parents too, and a quintessentially American perspective of freedom produce quite the red hue.

But the urban hubs in the Triangle and Triad are altogether different environs that have a decidedly different set of cultural markers these days, most notably the down right kooky embrace of social justice movements, Woke Dogma, and the Critical Theories.

You hear that parents? You are a mere impediment to these public school teachers’ mission to submerge your child in social justice theory. If you are white parents, you’re worse than that, according to this program.

Rufo goes on to point out what we’ve highlighted here before: This indoctrination effort holds priority as evidenced by Wake County’s Office of Equity Affairs $1 million per year budget funded by Wake County tax payers.

Tax dollars funding a Woke brainwashing of kids, financing the perspective that parents are hindrances to Woke reforms that must be removed. Rufo goes deeper on the Woke County phenomenon here.
