RALEIGH – If you thought the national Democrats had their hands full with the chaotic mess that is the Democratic presidential primary field, take a look at North Carolina where the most popular candidate is ‘Not Sure.’ No one knows who they are.
Public Policy Polling released poll results Thursday that show no actual, living, breathing statewide Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor, State Treasurer, or U.S. Senator actually beats ‘Not Sure.’
Not a single Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor breaks single digits. Same for state treasurer. Of course, as campaign ads start flying more frequently, this will change. And Governor Roy Cooper will obviously enjoy better name ID. Still, if Democrats are were hoping to cultivate an enthusiasm for Democratic wins in November, it looks like the Democratic voters just aren’t sure about themselves.
