WATCH: Phase 1? Governor Cooper to Address Coronavirus Status at 5PM

RALEIGH – As shameful as it is that the entire state must hang on every word one elected official says to see if they might be allowed to earn a living and exercise basic rights once again, that is the era of pandemic panics and shutdown policies that we live in.

Tuesday at 5:00 PM, Governor Roy Cooper will address the state and give updates on the coronavirus impact here. The confirmed case increases, the number of hospitalizations, and the unfortunate numbers of deaths at the hands of the novel virus (or other co-morbidity), are the typical fare, but many suspect today’s briefing may include an announcement regarding the activation of Cooper’s phased reopening plan.

The statwide Stay-at-Home order expires on May 8. Current conditions seem to imply that the state could move into Phase 1, which eases the death grip on the economy and individual rights marginally. Will he, or won’t he?

You can watch at 5:00 PM to see for sure.
