CAMP LEJEUNE – Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Scheller, in charge of an Advanced Infantry Training Battalion and stationed at USMC Camp Lejeune here in North Carolina, has been ‘relieved’ after putting it all on the line to call out the Biden administration and Department of Defense leaders after the tragically flawed withdrawal disaster in Afghanistan this week.
In a viral video posted to Facebook, Lt. Col. Scheller questioned the wisdom of current leadership in an indignant speech:
The video has been viewed and shared thousands of times, and it didn’t take long for the hierarchy to take notice as well.
Understanding the code of conduct, Lt. Col. Scheller appears ready to take on whatever comes from speaking out and speaking up for his brothers and sisters in uniform, as well as the American people themselves, with grace and class.
For a Marine commander in this position to make such a knowingly consequential video tells you all you need to know about sentiment in the US armed forces after the commander-in-chief and top Pentagon officials committed one of the biggest foreign policy blunders in our history.
