WASHINGTON, D.C. – The stage is set for opening arguments in the U.S. Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump this afternoon. Each side will get 24 hours, split over three days, to make their case, and starting with Democrats. These rules were finally agreed to after 13 hours of overnight debate from Tuesday into Wednesday.
Basically, Democrats are charging “unfair!” at every turn in order to constantly maintain their offensive position. They even cried rules were unfair when they were the exact ones they asked Senate leader McConnell for; go figure.
Yet, already, the Senate trial has a different dynamic as Trump’s defense team dissect and obliterate the charges on procedural and substantive grounds. You can watch it all live here when opening arguments kick off soon.
