WATCH: Governor Cooper Coronavirus/Reopening Briefing, Phase 2 By Next Weekend?

RALEIGH – North Carolina has already hit one of the arbitrary metrics, testing capacity, chosen by the administration of Governor Roy Cooper to progress through his reopening plan, but will the others line up well enough so that the people of North Carolina can have some of their freedoms back? That will be the topic of discussion at Monday’s coronavirus test briefing, which you can watch live below at 2:00 PM.

Now int he second week of Phase One, much of North Carolina has let loose from the shelter-in-place habits that dominated the last two months. Beaches in coastal counties were well attended, traffic seems to be approaching more normal levels; a sense of normalcy pervades many pockets around the state. Yet, that normalcy is fleeting when one realizes the renewal in activity will do nothing for the local restaurant or salon owner who’s still facing ruin on account of Cooper’s whim.

So maybe some hope will be provided that the governor’s whim moves him faster toward restoring the First in Freedom State.
