WATCH: Cooper’s Culture of Corruption

RALEIGH – The North Carolina Republican Party is out with a new video on Democrat Governor Roy Cooper and, like the trailer for the next great Netflic docu-series, it’s got us anticipating the full run of Cooper’s Culture of Corruption over these next 10 months.

With the baggage that Cooper has created for himself in the pipeline scandal, and others, it is remarkable how little it has actually weighed him down in the polls. A lot of that, frankly, is because of a mostly Democrat-friendly media that is reluctant to speak truth to their power.

It’s almost a cliche at this point, but imagine such a scandal during the Republican McCrory administration and the blistering coverage it would have received. A huge personal slush fund; from fossil fuel companies; to allow them a fossil fuels pipeline across the state; and, requiring they enrich crony donors and special interests in the process? Any Republican governor would be scorched for such scandal.

Yet the apparent corruption Cooper’s pipeline corruption scandal has been too much for even the usual suspects of Democrat Defenders in the media. Liberal editorial boards, alarmed, called for official investigations after calling BS on Cooper’s opaque and uncooperative approach. All North Carolina voters should watch this video and, at the very least, demand answers and accountability. Fortunately, the accountability part can be taken care of at the ballot box in 2020.
