UPDATE: ‘SWAT Situation’ in Progress Related to Monroe Murder Suspect

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. – Early Thursday we relayed news of two armed and dangerous murder suspects that killed a mother of five in Monroe in front of her children in what started as an attempted robbery. One of the two suspects turned himself in Wednesday night according to Monroe officials. The suspects were reported to be near the North Carolina/South Carolina border, and a SWAT operation focused on the other suspect appears to be under way now in South Carolina.

From Live5News:

“Crews intensely searched for a suspect wanted in the killing of a Monroe mother Thursday morning, sparking a SWAT situation along the NC/SC border.

The situation unfolded at a location on Winterberry Lane, where deputies say they went to serve a warrant on 25-year-old Byron Blair Watkins. […]

A shot was apparently fired in the SWAT encounter Thursday but it was not made clear who fired the shot. Officials say no officers were hurt. […]”

Perhaps the situation will be resolved…quickly.
