RALEIGH – North Carolina is on track to have more than 1.5 million absentee ballot requests int he 2020 general election, blowing out 2016 numbers. About half a million of those ballots have been returned and accepted already.
According to Dr. Michael Bitzer of Catawba College, using data from the N.C. State Board of Elections, a higher percentage of registered Democrats requested absentee ballots than Republicans. That makes since considering who is embracing Pandemic Panic.
Bitzer updated many more data points via Old North State Politics that shed light on these absentee ballot trends, just one day before the early voting period commences across the state.
