Two NC Towns Cower to Social Justice Agitators by Canceling Christmas Parades, One Town Refuses to Bow

OXFORD – The Left’s attacks on Christmas, at least the Christian part of it, have been longstanding. Yet it is only under the oppressive waves of wokeness emanating from today’s social justice movement that towns in North Carolina are canceling their Christmas parades. Not to be confused with a White Christmas, Leftist snowflakes have buried the towns of Garner and Wake Forest in threats to create chaos with protests at the parade all because the procession would feature Confederate heritage groups like the Sons of Confederate Veterans. The town leaders cowed in response, wary of the ‘logistical nightmare’ created by mobs of Leftists with hurt feelings and possibilities of violence.

Consider that for a moment. Because these groups are offended, they have used the threat of violence and mayhem to get their way. It is textbook mob rule. How is it in anyone’s interest to yield to such intimidation? Luckily, all are not.

Community leaders in the Town of Oxford are refused to play along with the self-anointed parade police:

“[…] In Oxford, Yount declined to answer whether the Sons of Confederate Veterans would march in the Holly Jolly Oxford Christmas Parade , scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. She said the parade would feature veterans groups.

“We do not have any concerns over participants or any groups coming to observe,” she told the local paper. […]”

That parade went forward as planned Friday evening. The parade in Garner, however, did not; a win for social justice warriors bent on enforcing their radical views on others. The Sons of Confederate Veterans issued a statement upon cancellation of the parade.

“We are displeased with the Town of Garner’s decision to cancel the annual Christmas parade based on alleged threats of violence from anti-American groups. The local SCV Camp has participated in the Christmas parade for many years to the delight of children and parents enjoying great support and fellowship from the community. We are saddened that we as well as many other groups have been denied the enjoyment of the parade because of the very real threat of violence from extremists bent on silencing our Constitutional rights and we hate that the Community has to suffer because of those people.”

Through out history incensed mobs of people have employed violence and intimidation to to violate the individual rights of others. While this social justice mob masquerades as defenders of those rights, they engage in the very behavior we all agree is detestable. The more we give in to them, the more encouraged they will be to mob and rob us until America as we know it is ‘canceled’ in favor of the Left’s post-modern fascist fantasy.
