Trump’s 2020 SCOTUS List Drives The Left Crazy, NC Native Makes the Cut

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Or crazier, at least.

A promise to pick conservative Supreme Court justices was all it took for many 2016 voters to support Donald Trump. The alternative —  Hillary Clinton putting two or three radicals on the high court — was just too risky.

Fortunately, and against political precedent, Trump actually followed through in appointing and nominating “good” judges, including to the United States Supreme Court. Now, with more nominations likely necessary over the next presidential term, Trump has released a list of jurists he’d consider for nomination.

“Apart from matters of war and peace, the nomination of a Supreme Court justice is the most important decision an American president can make,” Trump declared. He said candidates for president “owe the American people” a list of potential Supreme Court nominees, such as Trump provided in 2016. He touted Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, whom the president nominated and the U.S. Senate confirmed.

“By the end of my first term, we will have confirmed a record number of federal judges, over 300, all of whom will faithfully uphold our Consitution as written.

“What has always made America exceptional is our reverence for the impartial rule of law,” Trump added. “Equality under the law is the bedrock of our society, it is the principle that inspired American heroes to abolish slavery and end segregation, secure civil rights, and build the most free and just nation in history.”

“Unfortunately, there is a growing radical-left movement that rejects the principle of equal treatment under the law. If this extreme movement is granted a majority on the Supreme Court, it will fundamentally transform America without a single vote of Congress,” Trump warned. […]”

The president’s potential nominees, however, would presumably do just the opposite, guarding the primacy of the U.S. Constitution and the principles of limited government and individual rights set forth therein. So who’s on the list? Trump said they are jurists “in the mold of the late Anthony Scalia, Clarence Thomas, and Samuel Alito; all originalists that have consistently weighed constitutional matters in deference to the founder original intent and consistent with the self-evident truths our nation was founded upon. Here it is:

1. Bridget Bade, a judge on 9th Circuit Court of Appeals
2. Daniel Cameron, the attorney general of Kentucky
3. Paul Clement, former solicitor general of the United States
4. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.)
5. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas)
6. Stuart Kyle Duncan, a judge on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals
7. Stephen Engel, assistant attorney general for the office of legal counsel in the Trump administration
8. Noel Francisco, former solicitor general of the United States
9. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.)
10. James Ho, a judge on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals
11. Gregory Katsas, a judge on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals
12. Barbara Lagoa, a judge on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals
13. Christopher Landau, U.S. Ambassador to Mexico
14. Carlos Muniz, a justice on the Florida Supreme Court
15. Martha Pacold, a judge on the District Court for the Northern District of Illinois
16. Peter Phipps, a judge on the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals
17. Sarah Pitlyk, a judge on the District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri
18. Alison Jones Rushing, a judge on the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals
19. Kate Todd, a deputy assistant a deputy counsel to the president
20. Lawrence VanDyke, a judge on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals

About these picks, the president said, “Every one of these individuals will ensure equal justice, equal treatment, and equal rights for citizens of every race, color, religion, and creed. Together we will defend our righteous heritage and preserve our magnificent American way of life.”

The one in bold, Alison Jones Rushing, is a North Carolina native.

And, as whenever you’re over the target, Trump is catching flak from the Left for a good many of the names already.

In October 2018, Senate Democrats condemned Rushing for speaking at events sponsored by Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a Christian law firm falsely branded a “hate group” by the scandal-plagued smear factory the Southern Poverty Law Center. Sen. Dianne Feinstein infamously attacked Barrett saying, “The dogma lives loudly within you.” Feinstein also referenced the SPLC in attacking Barrett for speaking at ADF events. […]

Planned Parenthood, by contrast, treated the president’s names as an enemy’s list, warning that these people “will actively work against your civil and [reproductive] rights.”

The Supreme Court is a tremendously important election issue, as Democratic nominee Joe Biden has pledged not to nominate any judges or justices who oppose the basic logic behind the disastrous abortion decision Roe v. Wade (1973), which preposterously claimed that a right to abortion falls under the “penumbra” of the Fourteenth Amendment. […]”

And of course, with North Carolina native Rushing, who was born in Hendersonville, attended Wake Forest University and Duke University for law school, our local Leftist media is busy at work to make her out as an extremist. From WRAL:

“[…] In March 2019, NBC News reported Rushing has ties to an anti-gay organization called The Alliance Defending Freedom, or ADF. According to NBC, ADF “has a long track record of opposing the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals.”

NBC reports the conservative Christian legal group was designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center for its anti-LGBTQ ideology, including its efforts to ban same-sex marriage and recriminalize homosexuality.

On its website, ADF describes itself as “advocating for religious liberty, the sanctity of human life, freedom of speech, and marriage and family.”

The website also states “marriage is being threatened, and it’s not just same-sex marriage that is altering the proper understanding of what marriage is.””

Just to note, a hate group designation by the SPLC is often proof that a group is not overly Woke with social justice dogma. The above is deemed extreme by the likes of WRAL, which tells us more about WRAL than anything else. Especially now that the LEft is openly calling for the abandonment of the nuclear family as an ideal.

With enemies like that, it is clear that President Donald Trump is again taking the fight directly to those that have battled against the sanctity American idea for decades. At this point of consequence in history, with all the fundamental issues that will be up for debate, and all the efforts by radicals to literally dismantled the United States of America and rebuild it in some Marxian image, the importance of the Supreme Court is again reason enough to ensure Democrats do not get the White House, or the Senate, in November.
