Trump Has Lead in NC After Election Night, But Ballots Still Coming In

RALEIGH – With a lead of around 77,000 votes in the Great State of North Carolina, President Donald Trump appears to have won this important swing state. Except…there are 117,000 absentee ballots still ‘outstanding,’ which give the Democrats and Leftist media just enough to avoid calling the state for the president.

Usually, there would be a total of three days after the election for those absentee ballots to arrive and be counted. Now, after the partisan Board of Elections took it upon itself to effectively change voting law, that ‘ballot acceptance’ period extends nine days to November 12.

The quick math may lead many to believe the result could easily change, and Biden could carry the state. However, that is being far too kind to the Democrats, and they probably know it.

First of all, the 117,000 absentee ballots outstanding are not ballots that have arrived, but not yet counted. This is the outstanding share of total absentee ballots requested; there is no indication whatsoever of whether or not all those ballots will be returned.

Moreover, even if most of those ballots were returned, an huge majority of the outstanding ballots — pretty much all of them — would have to go Biden’s way in order to flip the state for the Democratic candidate.

If that seems unlikely, even with an assumed Democrat advantage in mail-in votes, that’s because it is. Extremely unlikely.

As President Donald Trump said late into the election night (or morning), ‘They can’t catch me.’

Unfortunately, with the Democrats’ shenanigans leaving the window open for 9 whole days, the Left will most certainly keep everything in limbo for as long as possible. The same delays in results are befalling Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.

And then the lawsuits start. It may be the second to last month on the calendar, but 2020 is far from over.
