Tillis Stumping For Dreamers Again, Thumbing His Nose At Campaign Promises

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As soon as Democrats on Capitol Hill indicated they would leverage the Friday deadline for a short-term spending agreement to force a deal on Dreamers, it was assured that Sen. Thom Tillis (RINO-NC) would place himself in the middle of it all on behalf of amnesty for illegal aliens.

It didn’t take much time at all for Tillis to seek out the spotlight and demand a ‘balanced’ approach to the issue of DACA recipients that would make more sense coming from a Democrat.

“The North Carolina Republican is part of a group of lawmakers negotiating on the immigration issue and said Republicans will engage with Democrats this week in hopes of moving forward.

“We’re making it very clear to (Democrats) that if they think a year-end deal that threatens a shutdown is a pure Dreamers-DACA codification, that they’re probably going to lose that battle,” Tillis told McClatchy.”

This is Tillis talking tough out of one side of his mouth, while calling for an even softer treatment of Dreamers than the recently unveiled immigration reform plan already sports.

“North Carolina Sen. Tillis, who endorsed the bill but suggested he would back a bigger amnesty for roughly two million illegals.

The Grassley bill includes a three-year work-permit program for 690,000 illegals, dubbed the BRIDGE Act. The act does not allow the 690,000 DACA beneficiaries, or the 3 million ‘dreamer’ young illegals, to get citizenship. But Tillis used his 10-minute speech to tout his SUCCEED Act which would provide a 15-year path to citizenship for up to 2 million illegals who could subsequently bring in chain-migrants, including their parents.

The SUCCEED Act “will be considered in the process … [as] a solution for undocumented children,” said Tillis, who is a strong advocate for outsourcing Americans’ jobs. The average age of the DACA recipient is 26.”

Tillis’ proposals are by far the closest to the Democrats’ favored DREAM Act, which would offer up to 3 million illegal aliens a path to citizenship.

He will boast that his plan is compassionate, balanced, and pragmatic. And when conservatives call him out for incentivizing more illegal immigration by rewarding the illegal aliens already here, he will condescend and patronize the Republican base that put him in office based on his lies about his opposition to amnesty in all forms.

It’s time for Tillis to announce that he won’t be running for reelection in 2020 so a real conservative can take his place and represent the Old North State like she deserves to be represented.
