Tillis Releases First TV Ad of General Election in Closely Watched Senate Race

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), one of the least popular senators in the nation, has released his first TV ad in what is sure to be one of the closest watched senate races in the country.

Tillis is one of those at risk incumbents that benefited mightily from other issues drawing fire away from his weak points. At first facing a well-funded, serious primary challenger in Raleigh businessman Garland Tucker, The Big Impeachment Show bolstered the Republican incumbent, topped off with an endorsement from President Donald Trump.

Now, with a solid challenger in Democrat Cal Cunningham, Tillis will again benefit from the general partisan divide over the pandemic response and reopening the economy. His first ad hits on these themes, as he recounts humble beginnings of growing up in trailer parks, and assuring voters his job is to protect their jobs.
