FAYETTEVILLE – President Donald Trump recently teased an appearance in North Carolina on behalf of Ninth District Republican congressional candidate Dan Bishop in a tweet, and now a venue has been announced.
The North Carolina Republican Party revealed the details and opened registration.
“You’ve been hearing the rumors, and now it’s official:
President Trump is coming back to North Carolina!
He’ll be doing a rally in Fayetteville on September 9th at 7pm at the Fayetteville Regional Airport. Stay tuned for updates on how you can volunteer and get your tickets here.
Let’s pack the place and show that we’re going to send Sen. Dan Bishop to Congress to help President Trump pass his America First agenda!”
Bishop faces a presumably close race with Democrat Dan McCready in the special election the very next day on September 10. The timing of the visit should maximize any ‘Trump effect’ in hopes of boosting turnout amid a low engagement election. This will be Trump’s second recent visit to the Old North State, having held a MAGA rally in Greenville, at which Bishop also joined the president on stage.
The location should also help give Bishop a needed boost, as McCready won Cumberland County with 51 percent of the vote in the original 2018 election versus Mark Harris.
Again, register for the event here if you’d like to attend or volunteer.
