RALEIGH – The city council of Raleigh is understandably going to have a more progressive tinge to it, being a a diverse, urban area and all, but having a city council member sing the praises of a mob destroying property in the city? That’s 2020. That’s the super cool, super woke, so progressive Saige Martin.
Martin, a recent addition to the city council, expressed his pride in the mob that destroyed statues in the Old State Capitol grounds.
“Folks aren’t going to wait for change,” huh? What an consequential precedent to set.
What if a few hundred folks of different political persuasions decide they’re also tired of waiting on that change they desire, Saige? Should they just get a rowdy crowd, get violent, and take matters into the mobs hands, Saige? Considering that woke city council members and Roy Cooper maybe perfect symbols of that these folks just cannot wait to change, isn’t this precedent quite dangerous?
It’s hard to tell which way a mob will turn to direct its ire; that’s why law and order are important. Even in the City of Oaks, Saige.
Of course, you can be assured that a mob of non-wokes threatening destruction of any kind would be shut down by law enforcement in short order. Yet, city council members and Governor Roy Cooper vocally or silently root the anarchists on in their own city.
If these are the consequences for such lawlessness — freedom to destroy and praise from city leaders — then we should expect a lot more of this before the summer is out.
