SENATE BRAWL: Rand Stands For Spending Restraint, Tillis Stands For The Swampy Status Quo

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last night C-SPAN, of all things, was Must-See TV. Last night the Swamp Leaders in the U.S. Senate tried to pressed ahead with the largest spending package ever seen and effectively told those principled conservatives who resisted to sit down, and shut up.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) did not sit down, and refused to shut up. The laudable Liberty Leader called out the Establishment’s absolute hypocrisy on spending. He introduced an amendment to the legislation that would keep spending caps in place, in adherence to the principles most of these other Republicans ostensibly embraced as their own when Barack Obama was in the Oval Office.

The amendment would delay a vote and cause a shutdown, but more importantly it would put the Establishment on record as to whether or not they actually support limiting profligate spending, or whether they are nothing but Swamp-dwelling hacks that take the voters for granted.

“When the Democrats are in power, Republicans appear to be the conservative party,” Paul said at one point. “But when Republicans are in power, it seems there is no conservative party. The hypocrisy hangs in the air and chokes anyone with a sense of decency or intellectual honesty.”

In the video, you can see the seething frustration of Establishment Republican Leadership with someone who would dare stand up for principled conservatism and limited government.

But nothing compares to the patronizing, shameful, proud RINO hubris of North Carolina’s Thom Tillis.

“Do you want to be a senator that wants to make a point or you want to make a difference? You know what? I don’t see how points alone can make a change in America,” Tillis fumed on the Senate floor. “You can make a point all you want. But points are forgotten. There’s not a whole of history books about the great points of the American Senate.”

Well, Thom, you are certainly making a difference through supporting such insane spending. You’re making a profound difference, in  fact, on the debts and government overreach that will hang over us, our children, and our grandchildren.

Tillis’ whole tirade was actually quite ironic. He blasted Rand Paul for just ‘trying to make a point’, when he himself got up on the stump to soak up the spot light…to make a point!

And his point was this: How dare you stand in the way of Big Government? How dare you challenge the status quo? How dare you have the gall to stand on principle and resist the encroaching Swamp?

Paul was actually nice enough to campaign for this fool in North Carolina during the general election. This is what Paul gets in return.

Thom Tillis is a a cringe-worthy cretin of Washington, D.C. with absolutely no respect for conservative Republican principles or the voters who hold them dear. He routinely make it known how much he detests conservatives, while also bragging about hit willingness to reach across the aisle. Spare us the sanctimony, please.

It gets worse:

This is disgusting. Rand Paul’s Liberal neighbor flew off the handle and violently assaulted him while Paul was doing yard work at his home in Kentucky. He suffered six broken ribs, an injured lung, contracted pneumonia and could barely stand for weeks. The assailant was charged with felonies.

The fact that Rand Paul will stand up for common sense government like he did Thursday night while still suffering from these injuries is a testament to his commitment and dedication to the cause of liberty.

Wonder who said this? We sure would like to know. Could it have been Thom Tillis?

We wouldn’t put it past him. He has nary thimble full of the integrity, fortitude, and character that Paul demonstrated with his resistance to ever growing government spending.

The government did shutdown, albeit just for a few hours. Then the Senate and House passed the largest spending package ever.

Republican House. Republican Senate. Republican White House. And spending larger than Obama’s greatest fantasy.

SHAME.
