Save Women’s Sports Act: NC Lawmakers File Bill to Ban Men from Competing on Women’s Sports Teams

RALEIGH – Several Republican N.C. House members have filed the Save Women’s Sports Act, an act to “protect the opportunities for women and girls in athletics by ensuring women are not force to compete against men playing on women’s sports teams.”

Did you ever think you’d live to see the day where this would have to be clarified in law?

Alas, in the Age of Woke, basic truths and norms must be defended, lest they be purposely destroyed by social justice warriors seeking to deconstruct societal mores in favor of the amorphous blobs of moral relativism detached from all reality. Imagine feigning dedication to ‘women’s rights’ while also fighting for males to play on girls’ sports teams in the name of ‘fairness.’ It would be comical if it weren’t so disturbing.

House Bill 358, sponsored by Reps. Mark Brody, Pat McElraft, Diane Wheatley, and Jimmy Dixon introduced the bill that will require biological sex-specific athletic teams in public schools, collegiate, and intramural sports leagues that participate in state sports associations.

The Left will cry and manufacture outrage over bigotry, most definitely. They will make appeals to pro-trans anecdotes, and tortured analyses from pro-trans academics, in an attempt to deny the clear science of biological differences, and what that means for trans in sports.

That’s par for the course, and appeasing such sentiment is the very reason we’ve reached this point where keeping boys and girls sports teams full of only boys and girls, respectively, must be clarified in law. And that law is what is viewed as controversial!

The truth is, most people agree with exactly what this legislation stipulates: women’s sports should be free of biological males, and vice versa, regardless of ‘trans’ status.

Even so, this bill will immediately be viewed as controversial, Democrats will not sign on to it out of deference to Woke Dogma, and the Democrat governor will veto it for the same reason. That’s no reason to forge ahead in defense of basic (some would say self-evident) truths that have come under direct attack and accelerating attack.
