Rowan County Little League Softball Champions Invited to White House

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The 2019 Little League World Series Champions of softball are from Rowan County in the Old North State, and they just got invited to the White House. The Rowan County team is somewhat of a powerhouse, winning two of the last four world series.

Now the girls will be headed to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to get the ultimate recognition for their championship victory, along with some mentions in the Capitol press.

“[…] The North Carolina team won the Little League World Series title earlier this month. It was the team’s second time taking home the title in four years. 

The White House said it is “thrilled” to invite the team, based on the email Yang shared. 

Two North Carolina congressmen, Reps. Richard Hudson and Ted Budd, both Republicans, had also sent a letter to Trump asking him to invite the Rowan County team. Hudson thanked the president on Twitter Wednesday after the invitation was announced. […]”
