RNC Launches Statewide Bus Tour Promoting 2020 Charlotte Convention

CHARLOTTE – The RNC started a statewide bus tour Tuesday to fire up supporters and recruit volunteers for the 2020 Republican National Convention in Charlotte. An expected 50,000 people will attend the presidential year convention in the Queen City, and that means the RNC is looking for 8,000 volunteers. The tour started in Charlotte Tuesday morning and will hit six cities over three days.

From Spectrum News:

“The CEO of the host committee, John Lassiter, says right now they’re focusing recruitment efforts on all platforms, and are gathering volunteers with the help of political groups.

He also says the jobs people will be doing will keep them busy, with guests expected to arrive a week in advance.

But the main thing is he wants the volunteers to represent North Carolina and the welcoming attitude Charlotte has to offer.

Starting at NASCAR Plaza in Charlotte, the bus will head to Little Richard’s Barbecue in Winston-Salem at noon and High Point University at 2 p.m. It will also stop at Dorton Arena in Raleigh.

Wednesday and Thursday, the bus will visit South Carolina. […]”

John Lassiter was also a big backer of former Governor Pat McCrory, serving as a leader on the N.C. Economic Development Board during his administration and advising on recruiting candidates for myriad boards and commissions. Now all the recruiting is for MAGA volunteers to help host one of politics’ biggest events.

If you’d like to be part of facilitating the a one of a kind MAGA RNC, sign up to become a volunteer here.
