Professor Mike Adams Found Dead in Wilmington Home

WILMINGTON – In a very sad ending to a very impactful and trailblazing life, Professor Mike Adams was found dead in his home Thursday. The unapologetic, conservative criminology professor at UNC Wilmington was infamous for fighting for free speech, even taking his university to court — and winning — when they tried to snuff out the career of a professor who merely held the wrong political views in his free time.

Adams was championed by the right for standing up against a dogmatic atmosphere of Leftists and social justice warriors on college campuses. At a ReOpenNC rally earlier this year, Adams got the crowd going when he reminded them that he was the guy that ‘kicked Roy Cooper’s ass!’

Cooper was the attorney general when Adams sued the UNC system for denying him full professorship in a case of viewpoint discrimination by the state. Cooper argued that was the state university’s right; to throttle conservative professors. And Cooper’s ass, Adams did kick; he one the suit, was awarded over 700,000 in legal fees, 50,000 in back pay for the pfull professorship he was denied, and created a landmark case to defend free speech.

Adams was also a very nice guy, despite his provocative stands, and he was reportedly loved by many of his students. The fight with the UNC System did not end when he took Roy Cooper to federal court, however.

More recently Adams’ commentary on the burning cultural issues of the day earned him more rebuke than ever before from The Mob. A petition was generated to get him fired, again for holding and expressing the wrong political opinions and making political attacks against the wrong people. He was a heretic in the eyes of the Woke Left; a hero in the eyes of those that appreciate liberty and the Constitution.

Getting forced out all over again, Adams was scheduled to “retire” on August 1. Sadly, he won’t be starting that new chapter. No details have yet been released about the condition of his death, but sources indicate he may have taken his own life.

Rest in peace, Mike.
