Murphy Strong in NC-03, Too Close to Call in NC-09 as Polls Close

NC-03/NC-09 – With only one precinct extending voting by less than half an hour, all polling locations across the Ninth and Third Congressional Districts have wrapped up election day and candidates in the respective districts await the results.

Over in the Third District, Republican Greg Murphy is in a commanding position with about 35 percent of precincts reporting. The Greenville surgeon and State House member leads in leads in all but two of the districts 17 counties. You can follow final results here.

As has been the case for weeks now, all the angst is in the Ninth District where precinct votes are being tallied and everyone expects a close race. With under 15% of precincts reporting, McCready has the early edge.

You can follow the results as they come in at the N.C. State Board of Elections site, or New York Times live results page here.
