Poll Showing Impeachment Support ‘Misrepresented’ by Agency

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week Fox News released poll results purporting to show that a majority (51 percent) of voters wanted President Donald Trump impeached. The shock poll didn’t seem to jive with reality, no matter the level of impeachment saturation by the media. The president addressed the poll in customary fashion, tweeting that the pollsters ‘suck.’

It appears, though, that the pollsters may not be so much incompetent as they are polling are compromised. An analysis of the polling results by the New York Post found that they under-represented Republicans and Independents in the survey results and thereby skewed it toward impeachment support.

From the New York Post:

“[…] Princeton, New Jersey, pollster Braun Research, which conducted the survey, noted 48% of its respondents were Democrats. But the actual breakdown of party affiliation is 31% Democrat, 29% Republican and 38% independent, according to Gallup.

A poll weighted for party affiliation would have concluded that 44.9% favored impeachment and 44.4% opposed it, a Post analysis has concluded. […]”

Deadlocked mostly along party lines on the issue of impeachment would make a lot more sense than a majority of Americans suddenly falling for Democrats’ latest self-serving scam. The outlier poll is mere confirmation of both the true nature of Trump opposition and the practice of using polls to more shape public opinion than take its pulse.

It also reinforces the prescience of President’s Trump’s prolific use of Twitter to communicate directly with his base and go around the media. Imagine how different it would be if the cabal of mainstream media was the only lens through which Americans saw the president, as has been the case for most presidents. They’d be declaring unanimous support for removing Trump and outlawing the Republican Party. Fortunately, we’re onl dealing with one bogus poll.
