Paul Power: McConnell Agrees to Repeal Obamacare Mandate in Tax Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Mere hours after Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) announced he would offer an amendment that, among other things, would repeal the oppressive individual mandate in Obamacare and essentially gutting the legislation, Republican Senate leadership has agreed to include it.

“We’re optimistic that inserting the individual mandate repeal would be helpful and that’s obviously the view of the Senate Finance Committee Republicans as well,” said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell as reported by Reuters.

President Donald Trump has indicated he would like the tax plan to rid the country of Obamacare’s individual mandate, lending support to Paul’s efforts after the pair’s recent collaboration to expand access to Association Health Plans.
