Pair of Pro-ICE, Anti-Sanctuary Bills Make Way Through General Assembly, NC NAACP Plans to Make Scene with ‘Caravan’ Protest

RALEIGH – Republican majorities in the N.C. General Assembly are advancing a couple of bills that really strike a nerve with the pro-illegal immigration Left.

As President Joe Biden signals amnesty, the border has been inundated with tens of thousands of border-crossers donning ‘Biden, Let Us In’ T-shirts, detention centers are literally overflowing, and confirmed COVID positive illegal aliens are simply released to spread around the country, North Carolina lawmakers are again moving to require local authorities cooperate with ICE and ‘sanctuary’ policies are effectively prohibited within the Old North State.

Senate Bill 101 and House Bill 62 have each advanced past their respective chambers, along partisan lines.

The former, Require Cooperation with ICE 2.0, as its name implies, is a second attempt by the legislative majority to require local law enforcement to cooperate with ICE, instead of merely releasing sometime violent criminal, illegal aliens back into the community.

The latter, is a little less catchy but just as important; an Act to Provide Injunctive Relief Against Cities and Counties That Adopt Sanctuary Policies, Ordinances, or Procedure in Violation of State Law. Basically, the legislation would allow for judges to issue injunctions to stop cities, etc., from carrying on such policies in contravention of state law.

How does the Left respond to this paid of bills?

Well, let’s see: The NC NAACP organizes a protest against the legislation, gives it the routine racist treatment, and calls it a ‘caravan’ with out a hint of irony whatsoever.

Can’t make this stuff up.

El Colectivo NC. If it sounds a little communist; that’s because it is.

Now, while the bills have passed their respective chambers, and are likely to find majority support once passing over from the House to the Senate or vice versa, those majorities aren’t very likely at all to be veto-proof.

In fact, it is all but certain that Governor Roy Cooper — in deference to the Far Left, open borders, sanctuary city crowd that form his base — will veto these bills and enjoy a robust defense of that veto among Democrats in the legislature.

Still, as the nation is forced to confront the consequences of a reality in which Joe Biden and the Left are calling the shots, we need as strong an effort to combat these policy failures as we can possibly muster.
