Official RNC Biz Begins in Charlotte, Trump in NC Monday, Woke Mob Plans Protest

CHARLOTTE – Amid all the back and forth regarding the 2020 RNC, it has been easy to get confused. The convention moved to Florida once N.C. Governor Roy Cooper refused to relent on his Pandemic Panic push, but official business meeting would still be held in the Queen City. Then, President Donald Trump announced that he would still accept the nomination in Charlotte; now the White House says he will not, though he’ll be in North Carolina on Monday.

The first meetings begin on Friday, and start in earnest on Monday. Now that the DNC is over, with Joe Biden accepting his nomination in a surprisingly smooth speech Thursday night, the plan for Trump and the GOP to do what the DNC could not — grab the attention of America — will become more clear.

As far as Trump’s visit to the Old North State next week (From WSOC9):

“[…] According to White House spokesperson Peter Hoffman, Trump will visit Mills River in Henderson County to visit a Farmers to Families Food Box program site and deliver remarks on the administration’s support for American farmers and families through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program.

According to the White House, the President will tour Flavor First Growers and Packers, an organization that partners with Baptists on Mission to build the Farmers to Families Food Boxes and how the boxes are packaged and placed into refrigerated trucks and then delivered to families in need. Following the tour, Trump will deliver remarks outside. […]”

And, of course, the Woke Mob has already made plans for a “Resistance block party” that is sure to devolve into the Left’s 2020 default of violent riots and mayhem.

From WBTV:

“[…] Liz Millsaps Haigler, a spokesperson for “Resist RNC 2020,” the group organizing the event, said the gathering is intended to be peaceful and family friendly. The group has a microphone permit for the park and the event is scheduled to take place between 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The group is non-partisan and focused on specific issues, she said.

Speakers will include activists and organizers like Kristie Puckett Williams, Charlotte NAACP President Corine Mack and Claire Tandoh from Kidz Fed Up. Other organizers from jail support, the Charlotte City Workers Union, Charlotte Reproductive Action, Comunidad Colectiva, the Sierra Club, Seeking Justice and other organizations will also speak.

The roster is not yet finalized and more people, including poets are expected to speak or perform, she said. Millsaps Haigler said she expects around 2,000 people to be in attendance. […]”

Non-partisan? We’re not sure that was intended to be a laugh line, but it certainly punches like one. The BLM pushing NAACP; Soros-funded Woke Kids; Unionists; “Jail Support”; abortion champions; illegal immigrant groups; radical environmentalists; and, extreme Social Justice Warriors. Sounds like a cohort of Democratic voters, no?

Perhaps they consider themselves non-partisan on account of the fact that they have a range of communists and socialists and anarchists among their ranks. Who knows?

In any case, would you put stock in the “family friendly” assurances?

Moreover, the organizers say they expect 2,000 people to gather for this “block party.” If memory serves, Governor Roy Cooper told Trump and the RNC he couldn’t make any guarantees about the event because of mass gathering restrictions due to Pandemic Panic. Indeed, Cooper has kept North Carolina in Phase 2 lockdown, limiting gatherings to 25 people or less…

So, Republicans can’t have voters enjoy their convention, but a Mob of thousands can gather to “Resist.” Isn’t that 2020, for ya.
