National Association for Gun Rights Makes Endorsement in Northeastern NC Congressional Race

RALEIGH – The new district lines resulting from Democrat’s Sue til Blue strategy had just a sliver of a silver lining for Republicans in North Carolina’s First Congressional District, as the electoral landscape shifted slightly in their favor. One of the Republican primary candidates vying to challenge incumbent Democrat Congressman G.K. Butterfield has just earned the endorsement of the National Association for Gun Rights.

The National Association for Gun Rights PAC (C00481200), is proud to endorse Sandy Smith for the U.S. House representing District 1 in North Carolina. At a time when the Second Amendment is under assault by anti-gun politicians in both parties, it’s encouraging to see a candidate make protecting the right to bear arms a centerpiece of her campaign.”

Smith heads to a March 3 primary with two other candidates, Ethan Baca and Michelle Nix. Despite the more favorable landscape, it will still be an uphill climb for whichever candidate emerges to challenge the established order.
