‘No integrity, No Accountability, No Transparency’: Anonymous Whistle Blower Slams Wake County Sheriff Gerald Baker, Mismanagement

RALEIGH – In addition to suspending cooperation with ICE and halting the senior well-check program, an anonymous employee of Wake County Sheriff Gerald Baker is blowing the whistle on ‘Fire/Demote’ lists and dangerous mismanagement of critical department teams and resources. It appears deputies are scrambling to get off the sinking ship because the level of incompetence, and political motivations, is so high.

The writer does not hold back in his/her criticism of Sheriff Baker and his management.n Here are some hard hitting excerpts:

From the very beginning of Baker’s tenure as sheriff, a forceful change toward a more Left-leaning and political office was evident. He actually announced the change assertively, and followed through with the refusal to honor ICE detainers. That was a classic example of a political statement policy, and the ending of senior well-checks evidence of the mismanagement of which the letter speaks.

According to the letter, he is also carrying out a vendetta against a few dozen sheriff’s office employees using demotions and reassignments for those unlucky enough to be on the list.

The HR revenge plays are one bad enough, but a level of mismanagement so bad that critical response teams are understaffed and services are being cut is a detriment to the community in Wake County.
