NO END IN SIGHT: “Multiple Sources” Report King Cooper Will Keep NC in Phase 2 Lockdown for Another 4 Weeks, Bars/Gyms Closed

RALEIGH – Governor King Roy Cooper is scheduled to announce a decision about whether or not the state will move into ‘Phase 3’ of his unilateral reopening selective lockdown plan at 4:00 PM Wednesday.

No need to wait to see what he’ll say, though, because WRAL (which is quite cozy with Cooper, being that they work toward the same political ends) is reporting that “multiple sources” within the administration are indicating Cooper will maintain Phase 2 lockdown for another four weeks, at least, and keeping bars and gyms closed.

From WRAL:

“When Gov. Roy Cooper makes an announcement Wednesday on the next steps toward completely reopening North Carolina, multiple sources tell WRAL News that they expect to see the status quo continue.

The state is still in Phase 2 which, among other things, keeps gyms, bars and large entertainment venues like movie theaters closed.

We are hearing that Phase 2 will be extended for another four to six weeks,” one source told WRAL News. “We certainly hope we are wrong and the administration will work with us to reopen safely as so many other states have done already.”

Others who spoke to WRAL News ahead of the announcement echoed this expectation. […]”

This will represent one more volley from King Cooper, doubtlessly delivering businesses hanging on by a thread to a fate of bankruptcy. A fate decided by one man, whose thirst for authority leaves him incapable of relinquishing the powers he’s assumed by fomenting Pandemic Panic.

All hail King Cooper.
