New Tillis Poll Shows He’s Still Drowning in Disapproval

HIGH POINT – High Point University is out with some political polling, and among the results featured is further confirmation that Senator Thom Tillis is just not popular.

Across the board Tillis is under water, hardly what an incumbent facing a stiff primary challenger wants to see. Even Governor Roy Cooper has managed to keep his head above water despite his own long list of shortcomings.

That just goes to show that playing to your base, in Cooper’s case the Democrats (formerly known as the Far Left), no matter how petty and partisan, still affords more unified support than Tillis’ habit of selling himself as an enemy of Democrats while stabbing the conservative Republican base in the back. The former Speaker of the N.C. House has managed to bring Democrats and Republicans together in their mutual dislike of him, while a full third don’t know who he is despite his puppy costume contests.

The polls also surveyed North Carolina views on impeachment, which seem to fall along party lines. You can see all the poll results here.
