NCFIRE November Report: 11 Illegal Aliens, 27 Charges of Child Rape or Child Sexual Assault

RALEIGH – This month Trump administration immigration leaders visited North Carolina to meet with state lawmakers about combating the reckless freeing of known illegal aliens arrested for violent crimes by a handful of partisan law enforcement leaders across the state. Early in the month ICE had to search and capture a Mexican illegal alien after Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s office refused to honor a detainer request for the man convicted of killing a person in a drunk-driving crash and released him instead.

Also during the month of November, 11 illegal aliens were arrested and charged with 27 separate counts of child rape or child sexual assault. That’s according to the monthly report from North Carolinians For Immigration Reform and Enforcement.

Two suspects from the November report, both with serious sexual crimes against children, may face different prospects based on the county their being held in.

Illegal alien Hilario Juarez Calat was arrested on November 17 in Davidson County and charged with the first degree rape and felony sex offense against a six year old child. The High Sheriff of Davidson County, Richie Simmons, sees no issue at all with honoring ICE detainer requests, and likely wants such a miscreant out of his community as soon as possible if the suspect isn’t be here legally in the first place.

Simmons is one of the vast majority of county sheriffs treating cooperation with ICE as ‘business as usual.’ As such, the known illegal alien and alleged rapist of a six year old girl will likely be dealt with accordingly and the communities of Davidson County will be safer for it.

Yet the handful of Sanctuary Sheriffs in North Carolina take a decidedly different approach. Wake County Sheriff Gerald Baker has advertised his non-cooperation with ICE and released dozens of known illegal aliens charged with serious crimes back into the community. That’s where Kirk Walter Nunez-Serraios is being held, charged with:

That’s quite the rap.

According to media reports, after being arrested for allegedly raping one child, a second victim came forward alleging first degree rape. In what world would an official charged with public safety not facilitate removal of this known illegal alien from their community when the law provides for it, and federal agencies are literally requesting detention?

In Sheriff Baker’s world, appeasing the activists on the Left to maintain Democratic votes come election time is more important. Governor Roy Cooper and the Democrats in the legislature live in this world too, continuing in their misguided partisan policies of contesting every effort to better enforce the law and better serve public safety in accordance with it. It all serves to give the suspected child rapist a sliver of chance more than he deserves at freedom here in North Carolina.

Such are the effects of Democrats’ policies. How many more monthly reports like this will it take to convince them their pandering comes at the expense of the very people they claim to represent.
