NC One of Only 10 States Requiring Masking of School Children

RALEIGH – Governor Roy Cooper is holding on to any scraps of Pandemic Panic control he can, and for some reason the one group that is least at risk for the Wuhan Flu is being punished the most — kids.

North Carolina still requires kids to wear face masks at schools, camps, day care, and other childcare facilities thanks to Cooper’s executive orders. We have the distinction of being only one of 10 such states that still mandate school kids wear masks all day.

State lawmakers have filed legislation to ‘Free the Smiles,’ giving local school districts flexibility in deciding on masking rules for school kids and staff. The bill was put on hold as the General Assembly turned to the issue of the biennial budget, but the policy could get wrapped into the larger budget bill after all.

With the actual public health threat posed by the Wuhan virus hardly noticeable, and repeated studies showing kids are not vulnerable to catch or spread this disease, the only thing left serving to motivate Cooper and other pro-kid-maskers is control and fear mongering.
