RALEIGH – His name is Keith Davenport, a Republican, former mayor, retired law enforcement officer and veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Currently of Linwood, North Carolina, Davenport says he has been called to serve once again. His platform is a little non-traditional for a Republican, featuring free government healthcare for low income earners and amnesty programs for illegal aliens, but you can’t fault him for lack of effort.
Davenport has an extensive 100-point plan presented on his campaign website, detailing his positions and solutions on questions of immigration, healthcare, gun control, the ‘War on Poverty,’ and beyond.
From his website:
“The current political environment has caused many to rethink their political positions. The two major political parties, as we know them, no longer exist. When the dust clears, America will be what remains.
One of the primary reasons I am a candidate for President of the United States is simply this… It’s been a part of who I am as far back as I can recall. I’ve always loved politics. As I got older, I recognized my desire and heart was to serve others. I saw injustices that made me want to be the impetus for change and the best way I know to do that… is to run for President.”
Calling Davenport an underdog maybe an understatement, but, to his credit, he has already done more than most as far as standing up for what he believes.
