NC Dems Wishful Internal Polling

N.C. Democratic Party Chairman Wayne Goodwin

RALEIGH – A reporter for Spectrum News (formerly Time Warner Cable News) tweeted out a picture of the North Carolina Democrat’s internal polling on several N.C. Senate races that they are feeling good about, apparently.

This list lacks any real numbers attacked to it, so it must be accompanied with a few grains of salt. The ‘Democrat Leads’ column features a couple of Establishment names that have irked conservatives fora while now.

Rep. Nelson Dollar (R-Wake) is a member of the House Leadership troika who likes to fight against Medicaid reforms and the like. Rep. Ted Davis (R-New Hanover) has joined hands with the environmentalist Left in opposition to offshore oil and gas exploration.

Notably, Rep. William Brisson (R-Bladen) switched from Democrat to Republican last year and is now apparently in danger of losing his seat.

The other columns feature a lot of wishful thinking. Reps. Holly Grange, (R-New Hanover), Greg Murphy (R-Pitt), and Larry Pittman (R-Cabarrus) are all in relatively safe districts with their biggest obstacle being whatever primary opponents they are facing.

Any money spent by Democrats in these districts will likely be a waste, which is great for Republicans in other districts.

Rep. Beverly Boswell is also “on the bubble” and the Left has been leaning on the outspoken Republican hard. Her unabashed conservativism is a threat to all sorts of Liberal narratives and it makes sense that they’d make her a target. She won’t go down with out a fight, however.

The expanding targets list is even more delusional. It includes N.C. House second-in-command Rep. David Lewis (R-Harnett) and other ‘sure things’ such as Reps. George Cleveland (R-Onslow) and Jimmy Dixon (R-Duplin).

For good measure, she tweeted out the the N.C. Dem’s thinking on the Senate:

It seems the chairman Wayne Goodwin and the rest N.C. Democratic Party are drinking their own kool-aid  – if they think it hard enough, maybe that Blue Wave will actually happen. Or not.
