NC Democratic Party: ‘There is No Place for Political Violence in This Country’

RALEIGH – The North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP), to the surprise of exactly no one, is pushing the narrative that President Donald Trump purposely incited a mob to take violent action at the Capitol in order to stop their proceedings and evoke terror.

In a message to supporters, the NCDP suggested Democrats call their elected representatives and regurgitate a transcript, that reads:

Dear Representative/Senator ______________:

As a constituent of _____ County, North Carolina, I urge you to quickly take action to lawfully remove President Trump from office. I was [INSERT WHERE YOU WERE WHEN YOU FOUND OUT ABOUT THE INSURRECTION] when I saw domestic terrorists storming the Capitol building. I am still shocked and scared for our country. President Trump is responsible for inciting the insidious violence and attacks. It is clear to me that he is unfit to serve and remains a threat to our democracy.

I am asking you to make it clear that there is no place for political violence in this country. We need meaningful accountability and justice.

Please support President Trump’s removal from office.

Oh, really?

We at First in Freedom Daily agree, of course, that political violence is abhorrent.

It’s just that this suggested script from the N.C. Democratic Party might have been useful — oh, I don’t know — ALL SUMMER LONG AS BLM/ANTIFA ELEMENTS RAGED ACROSS THE COUNTRY ENGAGING IN COORDINATED POLITICAL VIOLENCE CAUSING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF DAMAGE AND MURDERING MULTIPLE PEOPLE FOR A POLITICAL CAUSE.

With the George Floyd protests, the Jacob Blake protests, the [INSERT NAME HERE] protests — all of which descended into riots — in cities across North Carolina, the NCDP had only passing references to anger and justice to offer.

Governor Roy Cooper marched with BLM groups, elements of which had already and would continue to stoke destructive riots in Raleigh, Charlotte, Greensboro, Durham, Fayetteville, and other towns across North Carolina. The Democrats in North Carolina, like those nationally, brushed past the violence with the ‘mostly peaceful’ label.

Instead of condemning it, they rationalized it, and then labeled as racists anyone linking the obviously coordinated riots with BLM.

Billions of dollars in damage. Arson. Murders. Targeted assassination. Open calls for violent revolution. Mob beatings on political opposition. Weeks long attacks on federal buildings.

But two and half hours of unrest associated with the Right at the Capitol elicits, “there is no place for political violence in this country.”

Mind you, the violence on January 6 (relatively tame compared to that of Portland, etc.) has been met with near universal condemnation by Trump supporters and Republican elected officials. Their opposition to senseless political violence is consistent; from BLM to ANTIFA to whoever the hell that was at the Capitol last week.

It makes the hypocritical screed from the NCDP stick out like a sore thumb to anyone that’s been paying attention to their messaging over the last year.
