White NC Democrat Senator Tells Black Former Democrat Lawmaker He ‘Doesn’t Count’

RALEIGH – Senator Wiley Nickel (D-Wake) is a character. As in, a virtual composite of the sort of whining, sniveling, bitter, weak, self-loathing progressive ‘Woke’ Democrat that you’ve just pictured in your mind.

Wiley Nickels are a dime a dozen.

What you’ll find far fewer of, if any at all,  Joel Fords. Joel Ford is a former state senator from the Charlotte area. He’s a Democrat, too, but of the sort that is nearly extinct these days — an independent and critical thinker.

In fact, Ford isn’t in office any longer in part because his common sense approach to things like Voter ID sent the Wiley Nickels of the Left into a tizzy and they purged him as best they could. Yet, Ford was appointed to the UNC Board of Governors this year, and that really bugs people like Nickel:

The UNC Board of Governors are appointed by Republicans in the NC General Assembly who are only in power because they’ve hacked our democracy through gerrymandering.

Joel Ford doesn’t count, why?

Nickel, really owning his role here, presumably wants to pile on the Woke Whine that the UNC BOG is partisan. But the presence of a free-thinking Democrat like Ford kind of messes up the punch line, so “Joel Ford doesn’t count.”

Not that partisan control of such consequential boards (like this one, or this one) is a really a problem for Nickel, only when the Authoritative Leftist aren’t in control.

Well, Ford saw this, and true to his character, assertively swatted Nickel away like the sniveling Marxist brat he is:

And there’s the modern Woke Democratic Party in a nutshell: a haughty, white, progressive attorney, and lawmaker embracing his liberal white savior role by telling the free-thinking black man he doesn’t count.
