WASHINGTON, D.C. – Eastern North Carolina Congressman Dr. Greg Murphy is calling for the resignation of Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky after it was revealed the public health official colluded with radical teachers unions in setting overly politicized school reopening guidelines at the expense of children around the nation.
The news about the CDC’s school reopening guidelines being influenced by one of the largest teachers unions in America is an affront to science. @CDCDirector has chosen partisan politics over the welfare of this nation’s children and must resign.https://t.co/JT1NIWQbuV

Murphy told the Washington Free Beacon, “As a practicing physician, I believe that any physician who puts the influence of political organizations before the well-being of our children has violated the Hippocratic Oath and does not belong in public service. These actions are unconscionable, and so I am calling on Dr. Walensky to resign immediately.”
While Democrats and the Biden administration nervously shrug off criticism of the collusion as mere consultation with stakeholders — “feedback” — what the communications between unions and the CDC reveal are far more troubling than they care to admit.
The CDC was all set to tell schools to reopen with new guidance that would facilitate a long overdue and much needed return to school for kids across the country; that is until the American Federation of Teachers caught wind of it. The radical teachers union complained, issued demands of the Biden administration, and those demands were accommodated without question. Those demands, for extended closures and restrictions and less teachers at open schools, came at the direct expense of children’s education.
