WASHINGTON, D.C. – It is not often that you’ll see diametrically opposed politicians sitting down with one another to genuinely come together on an issue. Indeed, it takes extraordinary circumstances such as those brought on by Hurricane Florence.
Together, the NC Congressional delegation is working to make sure that our state has all the resources it needs to overcome and rebuild following Hurricane #Florence. Thankful for all who joined our bipartisan meeting. North Carolinians always come before politics. #NCpol #NC06 pic.twitter.com/QfshsUAR8p

While it’s nice to see a united front to help North Carolinians, these politicians are merely following the lead of North Carolinians themselves. The federal government will undoubtedly pass a taxpayer funded aid package to help finance the recovery and rebuilding effort, and the state government passed initial relief legislation this week, but it will be family, friends, and neighbors that pull together to put these communities back together again. Rightly so.
