RALEIGH – Conservative think tank the Civitas Institute has crafted a stragitforward run down of who is running for what office across North Carolina in 2020. Now, in an election year as big as this one, having a completely exhaustive list would be, well, exhausting. As such, they narrow it down to congressional and statewide races: US Senate and House, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Secretary of State and so on.
Even so, with the advent of President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign underlying it all in this important swing state, North Carolina is in for a wild ride with more than 20 statewide and congressional races combined. Of course, that says nothing of the hundreds of candidates running for the N.C. General Assembly and local offices across the state.
Yes, 2020 in North Carolina looks to be filled to the brim with politics. Ready or not, an election of extraordinary consequence is now in progress.
