NC-09: The distinction between Republican Dan Bishop and Democrat Dan McCready (‘Right Dan’ and ‘Wrong Dan, respectively) could not be more clear. One issue that contributes to the sharp relief is illegal immigration and ‘Right Dan’ is making it known that his Democratic opponent, Governor Roy Cooper, and the Democratic Sheriff of Mecklenburg County represent a ‘sanctuary trifecta.’

“We have a sanctuary trifecta in Gov. Cooper, Dan McCready and Sheriff McFadden,” declared Sen. Dan Bishop following the veto of legislation that requires sheriffs to cooperate with federal ICE detainers. […]
“It is beyond comprehension how anyone could side with dangerous criminal illegal immigrants over the people they are victimizing, yet here we find three extremists of the radical left, Governor Cooper, Dan McCready and Sheriff McFadden, doing just that,” said Sen. Bishop. “This reckless policy is an outrage that hurts innocent crime victims, many of them women and girls victimized by domestic violence and sex crimes. Dan McCready’s refusal to utter a peep makes a mockery of his sloganeering vow to put country over party.
“If there is any substance to that claim, he will break with Cooper and McFadden and support a veto override,” he added. “The people of the 9th District are watching.” […]”
Watching, and voting. Early voting in the 9th District special election started last week. The election is September 10. Will the 9th District chose sanctuary for illegal immigrant criminals, or common sense law and order?
