RALEIGH – As a hotly contested swing state in 2016, the political battle for North Carolina appears to have been a precursor for an even larger fight for the state in 2020. Democratic Super PACs are poised to pour ad dollars into the Old North State in an attempt to capitalize on a new congressional landscape as well as the obligatory resistance to the reelection of President Donald Trump.
But the Left’s scheme to inundate voters in North Carolina and a few other key states in 2020 goes beyond the top of the ticket. Super PACs will be looking to flip state legislatures as well, viewing it as their last chance to wrest control for the next decade. After lawsuits, more lawsuits, and more lawsuits, the 2020 battlefield is set.

“[…] Forward Majority, founded in 2017, is focusing on 50 legislative seats in Florida, Texas, Arizona and North Carolina that Democrats nearly won in 2018, according to a Roadmap 2020 plan the group released Friday.
“There are four states that represent the most powerful points of leverage to fortify our democracy,” Forward Majority co-founder Vicky Hausman said. “These states are where Democrats face the greatest risk of being locked out of power nationally for the next 10 years.”
State legislatures are in the spotlight headed into 2020 because of the huge influence the 2021 redistricting process will have on national elections. After the 2020 census, the four states are expected to account for 82 congressional seats.
“Right now in these states, Republicans have total control over the redistricting process and/or have been among the worst actors in voter suppression, fueling political extremism, and distorting national outcomes,” Forward Majority wrote. […]”
The group is finalizing plans for North Carolina, but is expected to dump millions to push the state Left. Will it work? It could, which is why Republicans must be vigilant in getting out the vote up and down the ballot. A reelection of President Donald Trump in 2020 would be great for our country, but it could be more bitter than sweet for North Carolina if Democrats seize power in the state legislature and Governor Cooper maintains his perch in the governor’s office.
