N.C. Democratic Party Fundraising Off Allowing Babies to Die After Birth

RALEIGH – In the N.C. House Wednesday, Democrats successfully sustained Governor Roy Cooper’s veto of the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act, preventing the establishment of legal protections ensuring medical care for babies that are born-alive after a failed abortion procedure. Thursday, the N.C. Democratic Party (NCDP) was cheering, and fundraising, off of their ‘success’ in defending infanticide loopholes.

That’s right, NCDP chairman Wayne Goodwin sent out a mass fundraising email less than 24 hours after his party circled the wagons around post-birth abortion, celebrating it as “historic.”

From the mass email:

“Last month, Governor Cooper vetoed a dangerous, partisan bill designed to chip away at a woman’s right to choose — and yesterday, for the first time in his administration, Democrats were able to uphold his veto.

This is historic — and we couldn’t have done it without all the hard work you put in to break the Republican supermajority and give the Governor his veto power back.

There’s a new reality in North Carolina. Now, Governor Cooper and legislative Democrats can work together to stop Republicans from forcing their most extreme policies on the folks of this state.

Republicans won’t stop playing political games with people’s health care – but yesterday, because of your help, Democrats were there to beat them back.

This proves why it’s so important to support North Carolina Democrats and with your help, we’ll keep electing Democrats in 2019, 2020, and beyond!

There you have it; The head honcho at the NCDP rejoicing that Democrats were able to uphold a veto so abortionists are free to let a baby die after it’s born because it is unwanted; Describing Republican efforts to close a loophole that allows for post-birth abortions (infanticide) as “forcing their most extreme policies on the folks of this state.”

That’s the state of the Democratic Party.

Moreover, the successful stand to ‘Let them die’ serves, in Goodwin’s mind, as a perfect opportunity to raise money. In 2019, Democrats fundraising pitch has really become, ‘Please pitch in $10 so we can continue to fight for the death of babies!‘

In a willful bastardization of the what the Born-Alive act actually entails, Goodwin says it was designed to “chip away at a woman’s right to choose.” In so doing, Democrats now seem to openly advocate for a woman’s ability to kill her children after they are born, as long as they meant to kill it in the womb first.

Some Democrat state lawmakers were downright gleeful that they were able to defeat efforts to protect abortion-survivors after birth.

That’s Sens. Natasha Marcus (D-Mecklenburg), Kirk Deviere (D-Cumberland), and Harper Peterson (D-New Hanover) saying “CHEESE” for letting babies die. Surely, Goodwin will share some of his baby-death fundraising haul with these Dems in 2020.
