RALEIGH – To the credit of some Left-leaning news media outfits around the state’s capital, they have been putting some effort behind sniffing out embattled Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Cal Cunningham, who’s campaign has gone dark since a extramarital affairs scandal embroiled his campaign.
It turns out they don’t like being ignored, even by Democrats.
ABC11, for one, gave Cal the empty chair treatment, drawing attention to the fact that he wouldn’t sit for an interview after revelations that the married, father of two and veteran was carrying on an extramarital affair with another veteran’s wife, spurring an investigation by the U.S. Army.
WOW.
North Carolina media giving @CalforNC the empty chair treatment as he continues to refuse to answer questions about the military investigation into his multiple affairs, and why North Carolinians should trust him. #ncpol #ncsen pic.twitter.com/7rZQ0NBBwA

The candidate, in arguably the biggest senate race in the country, in a swing state, went radio silent. His schedule blacked out, no media availability, no public events.
Well, WRAL, usually one to shill for Democrats, ‘hunted’ Cunningham down to ask him some questions — questions he did not want to answer.
#ICYMI – Cal Cunningham yesterday was hunted down by @WRAL at an event that wasn’t advised to the press and refused to deny that he had a second extramarital affair in addition to the one that is already confirmed and might get him court-martialed. #ncsen #ncpol pic.twitter.com/Tf7JDIGXAf

As embarrassing and shameful as these last few weeks have been for Cunningham and his family, what may be more embarrassing still is that Democrat voters, according to the polls, don’t seem to give a hoot about their candidate being a complete sham. As long as they can beat the incumbent Republican and pick up a seat for the Democrats in the Senate, that’s all that matters to them.
