WASHINGTON, D.C. – What goes around comes around. After the years long witch hunt of Donald Trump on manufactured collusion charges, it looks like the stops that people James Comey and others apparently pulled along the way are going to come back to haunt them. That’s according to North Carolina Congressman and Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus Mark Meadows, regarding the upcoming report from the Inspector General.
Meadows told Fox News that Comey in particular needs to be held accountable for the “inconsistencies” and that his “problems are just now starting.”
From Fox News:
“Meadows said that Comey told the president he wasn’t under investigation at the same time he was “intentionally” trying to investigate an obstruction of justice case. He said that they found out from the inspector general’s report that he was being investigated. […]
Meadows said Republicans sent a referral to Horowitz to investigate inconsistencies in Comey’s testimonies. “We started to see that what he told congressional investigators and what he told the inspector general, did not line up, they were not consistent,” Meadows said. […]”
For all the emphasis on getting stories straight on the part of Trump officials, it turns out that the biggest doozies are being told be the investigators.
