OAK ISLAND – A flashing road sign on the coast was hacked and briefly displayed a message to passing drivers that had nothing to do with roadwork, but everything to do with Making Roadwork Great Again.
It read: TRUMP 2020 BITCHES
From Port City Daily:
“[…] Town manager David Kelly said the message displayed on the town-maintained sign is not an official statement of the town and was not created by a town official.
“It appears that someone went into the sign’s control panel without authorization from the Town and typed the message you referenced,” Kelly wrote in an email Thursday afternoon. “The Town has taken steps to secure the sign’s control panel in an effort to prevent future unauthorized access and will continue to monitor the sign.” […]”
As seemingly harmless as the brief hack was, no doubt some Biden voters were offended by the message.
And it’s true that there are no reported incidents of such road signs being hacked to display pro-Biden messages. Instead, Biden supporters have made a habit of literally trying to block traffic and harass drivers on major highways in the state, vandalize buildings, break windows, attempt arson, and assault police as a way of communicating their particular political messages.
