LIVE: Public Comment on New NC Congressional Maps

RALEIGH – The roughest of drafts have been released for possible congressional redraws in response to a court order. The first public hearing was held Wednesday, offering the public a chance for public comment. Moving expeditiously, the relevant committees of the N.C. House and Senate expect to hold votes on the maps Thursday of Friday. The drop dead date for having new maps with court approval is December 15. After that, judges the State Board of Elections, the primaries would have to be pushed back to allow for a traditional filing and election cycle.
