Leftist Univison Host: U.S. Has Responsibilty to “Absorb” Migrant Caravan

On Monday, Univision host Jorge Ramos said that the United States has a ‘responsibility’ to “easily absorb” the caravan of migrants looking to force their way into the country.

Ramos made the statement while also claiming the U.S. could do so “without significant economic consequences” in an Instagram post.

“It’s not an invasion. The U.S. can easily absorb these refugees without significant economic consequences. Many countries in the world help the 65 M people who are displaced,” Ramos said. “And the most powerful nation in history also has responsibilities. We simply have to do our share.”

A recent CBS Evening News report pointed out the fact that most of the migrants have admitted they are fleeing poverty and looking for better economic opportunity, but even a mainstream media outlet like CBS has been forced to admit that’s not a condition for seeking asylum.

“Most tell us they are fleeing extreme poverty, but that’s not a condition for asylum or refugee status in the U.S.,” CBS Evening News said.

San Diego Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott also said on Monday that “the vast majority of those, from what we call the northern triangle, they are economic migrants.”

“They don’t meet the qualifications to get asylum here,” Scott declared.

Curiously, Fox News has continued to give Ramos a platform on it’s network recently to promote his radical open-borders agenda.

One would assume a news network like Fox would want to have the most knowledgeable guests possible to discuss these issues, but clearly, when it comes to Ramos not understanding American immigration laws and simply spouting off liberal talking points warrants major airtime on Fox.

Sad.
