The Left Coast: Illegal Alien Appointed to Statewide Post By CA Senate

SACRAMENTO, CA. – You just can’t make this stuff up. After brazenly flouting federal immigration laws, instructing residents not to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations, and pro-actively warning illegal aliens of imminent federal raids, Californian politicians are now appointing illegal aliens to fill statewide governmental posts.

“Lizbeth Mateo, 33, a Mexican-born attorney and immigrant rights activist who came to the U.S. with her parents at age 14, will serve on a committee that advises the California Student Aid Commission, the Sacramento Bee reported Wednesday.

Mateo will assist in developing ways to help “low-income or undeserved communities [sic]” receive information about college entry, according to the office of Senate President pro Tem Kevin de León.

“While undocumented students have become more visible in our state, they remain underrepresented in places where decisions that affect them are being made,” Mateo said.

De León called Mateo “a courageous, determined and intelligent young woman who at great personal risk has dedicated herself to fight for those seeking their rightful place in this country.”

The typo of  “undeserved communities” is pretty rich. Obviously they meant ‘under-served’, but there is no doubt that individuals that came to this country illegally do not deserve state sanctions and exaltation simply because they, or their parents broke the law.

The level of open disrespect for federal law is reaching new heights. Law and order now take a back seat to feelings and social justice.

It’s truly amazing that “sanctuaries” like California offer illegal aliens an environment to wear their illegal status as badge of honor. Imagine any other area of law where one could get away with publicizing and boasting about committing an illegal act and get away with it.

What would be more amazing is if the Trump administration, which prides itself on law and order immigration policy, were to use the public nature of Mateo’s new government post as a spotlight under which to enforce the law.

Perhaps arresting and deporting an “undocumented person” that openly flouts the law will make a good example for those tempted to come here illegally, lured by the preferential treatment and protection illegal aliens still get from Leftists governments.
