JACKSONVILLE – A few years ago the political Left launched a full attack on Chick-fil-A in attempt to smear the business that operates on Christian values as homophobic bigots. Of course, anyone who actually dines at Chick-fil-A knows that nothing could be farther from the truth. It’s leadership, and its employees, are easily the most wholesome, good-natured, and kind as any fast-food chain in the nation.
Last week provided one more reason to love Chick-fil-A when their CEO Dan Cathy surprised a team member working at the Chick-fil-A in the Jacksonville mall with a $25,000 college scholarship.
From WCTI 12:
“[…] To kick off Chick-fil-A’s 2019 scholarship announcement, Corryn Barnes, a restaurant team member at the Chick-fil-A Jacksonville Mall, was surprised by Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy with a $25,000 scholarship for her college education. She was one of 12 recipients of the money earlier this week.
Corryn has worked at Chick-fil-A since she was 15 and is currently a team lead. She’s pursuing her degree in Political Science from N.C. State, and plans to use this scholarship to finish her degree and then get her masters. Her dream job is to be a U.S. Ambassador. […]”
How often do you hear about other fast-food chains investing so heavily in their employees’ future? There is a reason why visited one of Chick-fil-A’s locations is so often an enjoyable experience, and it’s not just because of their delicious chicken sandwiches. Rather they have a culture built upon solid Christian values that reward hard work and engender genuine efforts to help all of their team members reach their full potential.
Congratulations to Corryn, the other scholarship recipients, and to Chick-fil-A on a job well done. You can read more about what the organizations’ leaders had to say about their scholarship program here.
